Safe use of ladders and stepladders:
HSE have recently revised and published new guidance on a subject that still causes many concerns on construction projects. With many sites having banning orders on stepladders use (at least till the very end of many projects) HSE have been eager to get guidance out to the many users of this type of access. Having been involved in the collaboration of stakeholders in helping to formulate and produce this guidance I can only be enthusiastic as to the clarity of the content.

Face-Fit testing
Following the feature on Face-fit testing Torch Safety Service are delighted to announce the introduction of a face-fit testing division. Office Manager Lauren (pictured) is currently undergoing extensive training to deliver Qualitative Face Fit testing to potential customers from any industry.
A key driver in the ongoing HSE construction blitzes are the efficiency and suitability of dust masks that fit tight to the face known as Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE) they continue to be used in many industries. As we know faces come in different shapes and sizes hence RPE does not suit every individual. Face-fit testing is carried out to demonstrate how well a facepiece matches the individual's face; it is used to select a facemask which is a good match for them.
Below is a short video describing the process and the HSE Guidance note on the subject. We will be taking bookings and holding courses from April onwards contact Lauren by completing the contact form
